The challenging aspect for me in the readings about racism and racial justice this week had been about the ways in which African-American children are stereotyped to be financially poor and racial minorities. This type of judging of African-American children is unfair as has been evident in the example provided about the stereotypical judgment of the Hillhouse High School and its students. The African-American children are generally oppressed and considered to be intellectually weak because of their race.
